Dean Fish is a second generation rancher in Southern Arizona. A passion for knowledge led Dean to
complete a Masters and PhD in Reproductive Physiology. He spent almost 15 years as an Extension
Agent helping livestock producers become more sustainable while remaining profitable. One of his paths
led him to stewardship and stockmanship. Two men who greatly influenced Dean were Greeley Hat
Works Brand Ambassadors Curt Pate and Todd McCartney. Always admiring their “lids”, Dean became a
lifelong customer/believer with his first Greeley. Dean continues to work with Curt and Todd putting on
Effective Stockmanship and Cattle Handling Demonstrations for national audiences.
Dean has dedicated his life work to service and knowledge. As the Ranch Manager for the Santa Fe
Ranch Foundation, he works to develop problem solving research for his fellow beef producers. The
Foundation also works to get kids out of doors through agricultural literacy, hiking, camping and learning
about the environment. Dean raises commercial Angus cattle, club calves and show goats. He is
currently the President of the Arizona National Livestock Show and has served in a leadership role for
many livestock and service organizations. Dean has also helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars
for worthy causes through his auctioneer/ringman work.
