Measure Circumference

Place a cloth tape measurer around your head about ⅛” above your ear, across the mid-forehead, all the way around. You don’t want it too tight, as your hat will be uncomfortable, just snug.

*If you don't have a cloth tape measurer, use a piece of string and measure with a ruler.

Now mark the place where the tape measurer comes together and write down the measurement in inches.

*If using a piece of string, mark the place where the string comes together with a pen or marker. Lay the string flat and use a ruler to measure from the end to the place you marked. Write down the measurement in inches.

At Greeley Hat Works, we prefer to measure our customers' heads with our conformateur, a 19th-century French device that takes an exact pattern of your head down to the smallest bumps. If you aren't able to make it to our Showroom or to one of our retail partners' showrooms to get The Greeley Experience, below you'll find the best way to get an approximate measurement of your head at home.
