The Story Behind "Martin"

Our vintage pickup is named Martin after Ben Martin, the man who took over Greeley Hat Works in 1926. Ben Martinez, as he was originally known, made the difficult decision to change his name to Ben Martin to ensure the business could thrive in the era's challenging cultural climate.

Today, the spirit of that legacy is visible daily. Martin the truck is a beloved fixture of our community, often found parked outside the shop and featuring prominently in local parades and events across Northern Colorado. This tee honors Ben Martin’s story, reminding us that our deep history and the courage of the people who built this business are what keep Greeley Hat Works authentic today.
